MOGADISHU (SD)-The Chinese Embassy in Somalia responded to Somaliland’s participation in the inauguration of the Taiwanese president on May 20th.

The spokesman for the Chinese Embassy in Somalia informed the press that China’s stance remains that Somaliland is part of Somalia.

The Chinese Embassy spokesman further stated that many governments, political leaders, and other individuals believe in China’s principle regarding the one-China policy.

China’s statement came after Somaliland recently sent a delegation to Taiwan to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the Taiwanese president elected earlier this year.
