BAL ‘AD (SD)-The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, visited Bal ‘ad to oversee the commencement of the third phase of the road connecting Mogadishu and Jowhar.

Speaking about the benefits of this road, the Prime Minister highlighted its importance as a key facilitator for trade, enhancing the movement of people and vehicles, boosting economic growth, and providing essential services. He highlighted that the road would reduce travel time and costs.

During his visit, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre received an update from the engineers overseeing the construction of the road on the preparations for the third phase. He expressed gratitude to the Government of Qatar for funding the project and the engineers and construction workers dedicated to building the road.

The PM was accompanied by several members of the Cabinet, military commanders, the Governor of Banadir Region, and the Ambassador of Qatar. This project consists of three parts: the construction of the roads connecting Mogadishu-Afgooye, Mogadishu-Bal ‘ad, and Bal ‘ad-Jowhar.
